Asalamualaikum. This is a question about the honourable Khadija (RA). At the time of marrying the Prophet(SAW), did she have any children at this stage? I had read in an article that she did, yet there are a few books that state otherwise. Also ,what is the ruling concerning marriage to a previously married person with children. Is is lawful to decline the proposal from such a person if one may not feel comfortable with the responsibility, although the person may be of good character and manners. Shukran
1) Her first marriage was with Abu Halah ibn Zurarah Tamimi. She had 2 sons - Hind and Halah. Both embraced Islaam, Her second marraige was with atiq ibn aidh makhzumi - had one daughter named Hind who accepted Islaam. Then married Rasulullaah (S.A.W) - 4 daughters - Zaynub, Ruqayyah, Umm Kulthum, Faatimah, also 2 sons who passes away at a very young age. Daughters lived, grew up and also married. 2) It is your choice as per your ability.
