Massallah reagrding marrying someone who had been married and has children

Question ID: 24384

This is a question about the honourable Khadija (RA). At the time of marrying the Prophet(SAW), did she have any children at this stage? I had read in an article that she did, yet there are a few books that state otherwise.
Also ,what is the ruling concerning marriage to a previously married person with children. Is is lawful to decline the proposal from such a person if one may not feel comfortable with the responsibility, although the person may be of good character and manners.
