What is the difference between adultery and fornication

My question pertains to adultery and fornication,
1. Please explain to me what is the difference between the two?
2. Committing either or is categorized as a major or minor sin?
3. How should one repent for committing such a sin?
4. Is adultery and fornication regarded as zinna?
5. How does one know if one has been forgiven by the Almighty Allah (SWT)

1) Adultery - when when one party is married.
Fornication - when both not married.
2) Both major sins
3) Regret, ask for forgiveness, never do so again.
4) Generally
5) When one is not going to do so again.
