Wanting to be part of an islamic community

Question ID: 28554

Dear Sheikh Elias,

I’m a muslim from Brazil, having returned to Allah’s(swt) Deen about five years, alhamdulillah.I’m now 31 y.o and trying to increase my Ilm. Knowing english helps better for that task. Some years ago, we from Rio de Janeiro (SBMRJ) received a visit from one group of Jammat-Taligh. I asked them for a brother that can help me: I want to learn arabic and Islaam in an Islamic University. Also live in an islamic community that is worried with their Allah’s given tasks.
Here in Rio we are a very small community, and not an integrated one. Many brothers mind little with the irrelevance of the deen in our lives. I want to live, work and study – and inshallah die – in a (don’t matter the size) islamic community that make great efforts to maintain and contruct a healthy society.
I study Social Sciences (graduation) and Political Sciences (master degree) at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. I have my body, my mind and disposition (Allah(swt) gave me, Subhan’Allah) to do any kind of activity of work and work for Islaam.
How can you help me brother? submit me to Allah(swt) more a feel a ghurabaa in this society.
I saw on youtube the video of the Janaza of Daiyah Ahmed Deedat (may Allah have him in peace). I think that in South Africa there’s a strong muslim community, and I want to take part in this. Help and be helped by our brothers. Also I saw some videos about that community in this place.
JazakAllahu Khair for your atention,

BarakAllahu Fik,

Your brother from Rio, Brazil,
