Walima without consumating the marriage

assalamu allaikum I just need to know if you make nikkah and if you dont consumate the marriage can you have a walima on the same day after the nikkah,and if the grooms party and brides party put half half towards the walima.

After the Nikah, if the husband and wife have 'private seclusion' the Walima can be declared. Consummation is not a pre-condition. The grooms and brides can/may split the expenses. In fact the whole locality can do so.
