Validity of talaaq

Assalaam Alaikum,

I gave my wife Talaq. She and her family believe the talaq is invalid because:
1. I didn’t do arbitration (I just thought about it for one week prayed istikhara and told them the day before that I would give talaq the next day).
2. they believe I am sexually frustrated (we are in different countries).
She was not on her menses, we did not have intercourse since her menses (we are in seperate countries)

I have spoken to two scholars, both have confirmed the Talaq is valid.

Could you please address the issues with evidences and explanation so that I might show my wife and her family so they can accept iddah has started and the talaq is valid.
Thank you.

By your first sentence Talaaq is valid. For Talaaq there is not need for witnesses or arbitrators. Even Talaaq received in menses is valid. She is in her Iddat. However, do not issue the second or third Talaaq. Leave room for re-consilliation. Read on site for proofs. 'Complete system of Talaaq'
