If you have a genital infection, the vaginal secretions you produce can change colour and become thick. Some infections also produce a smell. Get yourself ‘checked out’ if you have:
1) A thick secretion (called a discharge),
2) A secretion that itches,
3) A secretion that smells,
4) A secretion that is yellow.
A smelly discharge is most likely to be caused by bacterial vaginosis (BV), which is not caught during sex.
