Unable to complete task in time specified

I had taken a vow that if something was completed successfully I would khatam a Quraan in a specified amount of time.However due to circumstance I was unable to complete it in the specified time. I know that time is conditional so does that mean if a I complete the quraan my promise will be fulfilled even though I had promised to finish in a specified time?
