test from Allah

Question

i begin in the name of ALLAH and peace and blessings on the best of creations Nabi (saw).
Assalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahamatullahi Wabarakatuhu

I know that ALLAH TAALA "tests" us through our children.I understand it as being that ALLAH pehaps gives them an ailment and sees how we in turn react...whether we bear it with patience or act irrationally and "fight" ALLAH TAALA'S will Nauthubilla.Someone now tells me that ALLAH punishes us through our children.Does this mean that our children are punished because of our(the parents) wrongdoing?

The world is a test. All in it is a test. Not a punishment. We have been given the solution/formula as to how to act.
Our duty is to seek the solution and apply it.
