AsSalaamuAlaykum. I have a few questions, all regarding the use of Surma (kuhl).
1. I have read in kitaabs such as Shamaa-il Tirmidhi and Sunnahs (by Mufti EMH Salejee) that Nabi (s.a.w) used to apply surma at night. However I notice that many people apply Surma specifically on the days of Jumuah and Eid. Is this permissible or is it an innovation?
2. The hadith mention that we should use Surma of the ‘Ithmud’ type. Is this available anywhere in South Africa? If not, what is the closest substitute?
