Is one allowed to trade on the stock market,be it commodities
gold etc. and other stock.

What is permissible to eat is permissible to buy or/and sell. Gold etc minerals are permissible to buy or/and sell.
Thus to deal in these commodities will be permissible.
Some Ulema express major reservations in buying and dealing with the stock exchange.
