Assalamu alaikum,
Respected Mufti Sahab, I want to know if reading the last Nafil Namaz of Esha in a sitting position Sunnat or not? If one sits and reads will there be any deficiency in Sawab, whether Sunnat or Nafil Namaz read without any Sharie uzr (excuse). If ones sits and reads how should the Ruku and Sujood be done?

2. Can anyone sit and read his or her Nafil Namaz individually of any time, Zohar or Magrib etc while sitting down? Though he or she does not have any problem in standing and reading. He is fit and not sick or has any pain or any sort of disease but just wants to sit and say the Nafil Namaz. Can they do it? Like I have heard that standing in Salah is Farz so if one sits and says the Nafil Namaz will his Namaz be valid because he or she is missing out the Farz of standing in Namaz?

3. Can Sunnat e Muaqqadah and Sunnat e gair-e-Muaqqadah be read sitting down as stated above like the case of Nafil Namaz?

Jazzak Allah!

1) One should stand and perform both the Sunnat and the Nafl. If you are extremely tired and weak there there is room to perform it sitting. One will only earn half the reward when praying Salaat sitting. The method is as follows:

1.1) Your sitting equals your standing.

1.2) Placing the hands on the thighs while leaning forward a little equals the Rukhu.

1.3) Placing the hands on the thighs while bending more forward then Rukhu equals Sajdah.

(In most cases the person makes the Sajdah)

2) It is not good to do so. The Salaat is valid but you will only earn half the reward.

3) With a Shari excuse it is valid. Without a Shari excuse it will be valid but Makrooh and it will only earn half the reward.
