Sandal permitted during ihram

Assalaamualaikum.
Please clarify the shariah position (if there are differences between the mathahib, please elucidate as well) on exactly what type of sandal is permitted during ihram, ie. if it has a velcro strap above the ankle, a thin strap across the toes, and the heel is open, is it allowed?
