Permissibility of disposing of books which have been donated

As salaamu alaykum wa rahmatulahi wa barakatuhu,
I make du’a that you are well and enjoying good health.
We are running an Islamic library, with the support of our Muslim community. Our library is in a process of rearrangement and thus we have the following query:
The library has alot of torn and old literature that was donated over the years. We intend disposing these books, as they are old. Is this permissible?
