Permissibility of a female helping her parents financially after marriage

assalaamu-alaikum mufti-saheb
Please clarify something for me.My husband said that because Im a wife to him I have no rights to my parents( no financial) only a son can financially assist parents not daughters ,because its not their responsibility, because once you marry,you owe your parents nothing(wife).the financial assistance to husbands parents should not be even qeustioned,(if we can afford it or not)but assisstant to wifes parents when we can very much afford to is rejected on the above basis..mufti please clarify or justify justify if the above is correct.jazakallah khair

This is not absolutely valid. If the parents are poor and the married daughter can aid, she should do so, if it is her money the husband cannot object. Behaving as the question states is a formula for divorce.
