Meaning of name

Assalaamualaikum Mufti

My Question to you pertains to the meaning of the name Zayyaan.
I have done my research and have found that it is defined in the arabic language as ‘object of importance’, However i was informed by an elderly who is quite islamically inclined that the name Zayyaan does not have a good reason and was referred to as unsuccessfull, to lose so on and so forth, please would you be so kind as to assist me with this, as i highly doubt this?
