Massallah pertaining to becoming a Muslim

I just need to know something I am unsure of. Should a person revert for the sake of their husband or wife and they don’t accept Islam with conviction. Would they need to read their Shahada again?

Question not clear. Person should convert with sincerity but if done for convenience it will be valid.
