Assalaamu Alaykum Warahmatullaahi wabarakaatuh Trusted MuftiI searched through your answers and found that it is permissible for hanafis living in non-hanafi areas to performing asr salaah in shafi or maaliki time in Jamaah whether as an imaam or a follower.
But when it comes to praying individually in shafi asr time, one time your answer is yes and another time it is no.
I want some clarification as to whether a hanafi who lives in non-hanafi areas could perform salaatul asr in shafi asr time alone (individually) The following are copied from your website to clarify the question above:
Question 11363 Date7/06/2014
. I am a strict follower of the Hanafi mazhab. I live in a country whose asr time conforms with shafi maliki hambali mazhabs in every masjid throughout the country. If I do not follow them in the Asr Salaah, I will be permanently deprived of the Asr salaah jamaah thawaab.

1) What do I do?

2) Do I follow them in asr jamaah and repeat the salaah when the hanafi asr time is due or I follow them without repeating it?

3) Can I also perform Salaah Asr alone at shafi time? Please help me!
Answer
. If you perform Asr in Jamaat behind a Shaafi Imaam then it is permissible. If you perform Asr alone do it in Hanafi time.
