Marrying a christian woman

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatallahi Wa Barakatuh. Please sir, I made a union with a Christian lady from a Christian home and both her family and mine were duly represented. I later asked her to demand for something reasonable which she did and I provided.
1. Hope this union is valid in Islam?
2. Hope the Children produced after this union are not bastards???
