Irregular period;marriage

I am 31 and came close to marriage 9 years ago but the engagement broker off after 6 days. I am familiar with your tried and tested methods on the website but some have mentioned that my path is blocked. Would reading the manzil and surah baqarah for 40 days open my path to have half of my deen completed? Do I need to read the whole surah baqarah.
