Husbands family wanting a divorce

a couple is married for ten years.the couple stayed happily married for eight years.in the last two years they have experienced problems in their marriage.the husband was found in possession of drugs. the drugs were given to the father in law.he has not taken any action on the matter.the daughter in law had been treated like a stranger by her in laws.sister in laws and father in law have been abusive to the daugter in law,her family and neighbour.the couple is seperated at present.the husbands family does not want to reconcile the marriage.the husband does not totally support the wife and kids financially.the husband physically and mentally abuses the wife and children.on numerous occassions the wifes family has supported the couple financially.the husband states that the marriage is going to be over.the husbands family is asking for a divorce.the husband has not issued a divorce.what solution can you provide?
