How does smoking weed affect ones unborn child and Imaan?

Asalaam u Alaikum
If a man smokes weed and has intercourse with his pregnant wife, can this affect the unborn child’s health and imaan?
What effect does it have on the smoking person’s Imaan, salaat, dua etc? How can we help someone to overcome this problem?
