Assalamoaleikum mufti sahb,

Hope you’re well inshallah and may Allah SWT reward you for this service. I am looking for advice regarding a revert muslim brother whom I’ve known locally at our prayer room. He disclosed his personal situation to me a few months back stating that he is gay and shares his living space with a non muslim male whom he now regards as a friend. My dilemma is such that he is looking for me to take him to and from the prayer room for taraweeh and I am doubtful as to whether i’d be committing a sin. He’s stated that his relationship with this male is of friendship alone but another local brother whom I regard as a pious man mentioned that the revert brother told him they’re together but not committing any sexual acts. Can you please clarify what should I be doing in this situation? Should I distance myself from him or carry on transporting him to and from the prayer hall?

Jazakallah

Regards

You should distance yourself from this person. However, first take him for spiritual advice from your local Ulema.
