Fundraising

In light of quran/hadith and the sunnah could you please enlighten me as to the ruling of fundraisers organised and attended by women?
Is there a need for a women to participate in these gatherings be it for social outings,to raise funds for charities or to raise funds for ones school etc?
I ask as i am currently in the process of applying for a position in an Islamic school and one of the stipulations in ones job contract is to help organise and participate in a fundraiser on a weekend”. I would like to be informed as to what the ruling is regards to fundraisers solely for women.”
