As-salamu-alaikum Mufti sahb
My parents are totally dependent on me financially. Currently I provide them with some of my own money and some inheritance that they received. Unfortunately the inheritance money is running out and I cannot afford to pay the shortfall between the inheritance and my existing payment. I have 3 sisters, 2 of which work and are financially secure. My question is:
Is it unreasonable to ask them to make a contribution? Is there a shariah ruling on the contribution that must be made by each sibling or is it purely based on affordability.
