Assalamu alaykum,
I am planning to study engineering. But my parents want me to study accounting because they feel that accountants earn more than engineers.. Now accounting by itself is permissible, as you know. But most of the jobs of accounting are such that one has to deal with, and record interest deals, which of course are haraam.
It is solely for this reason (fear of my earning being haraam) that I do not want to do accounting, rather I am going into engineering. Have I taken the right decision?
