Business falling through

As Salaamu Alaikum Mufti

I have recently completed my studies and was looking for a job. however, after many applications and interviews i was unable to find a job. Following this my father decided that he and i should go into a business venture together(purchasing a franchise or the like) as this would be a source of income for me and would provide him wih a secondary income.
Alhamdulillah we had a choice of many oppurtunities, but at the last minute they all fell through and we were back to ground zero. Could there be a reason for this?

Jazakallah
