Assalamu alaikum

my husband and i became mureeds of the sarwari qadri silsila a few years ago. we were told that it is good to be a mureed as you get guidance from your sheikh, etc. my husband went with our local sheikh and a few mureeds to Hazrat saabs home in pakistan, hoping to gain knowledge and a better understanding of being a mureed, thereafter they went for umrah.
he came back extremely disappointed and told me that he wasted his time because he learnt nothing. however, his umrah trip was much more uplifting and he also had a dream there that some jamaat brothers were calling him to their side.
after this experience my husband felt that being mureeds are not for us and we since have had no contact with our sheikh.

Can Mufti please advise if we have done wrong, if so, what are the consequences and how do we rectify it.

Jazakallah

It is permissible to be a 'Mureed'. Remain 'Mureed' but take part in Tabligh Jamaat  activities without extremism. These days it is more beneficial for the individual and more easy to get benefit whilst in Jamaat. Later on one will then be able to take/draw from the Sheikh
