Alternate views of islamic literature

Question ID: 27591

Respected Mufti,

i do alot of reading and studying of Islamic literature, principally your materials/publications/website, that of the Majlis (Mufti Desai – PE), Mufti Taqi Usmani’s and that of DArul Uloom Deoband and Darul Uloom Karachi, – all extremely useful,

however there are also alot alternate views and literature very critical of all of the above, some of which i’ve read and which does’nt make sense and others although very critical – does make sense to me…. i refer to the work of etc… which seems very critical of the Deobandi movement,

my question is; do i still continue sourcing and reading the alternative materials or must i ignore??? my reasons for sometime reading the alternative views are that i as a layman feel that i need to educate myself when it comes to Deeni matters and that i at least need to be aweare of all the schools of thought and their mindsets etc….

Since you are not an Alim, it is best for you to stick to authentic reliable sites as you have mentioned. Ignore others is the safe way.
