As Salamu Alaikum Mufti Saheb

It is a common trend nowadays on social media that Muslims that openly sin e.g. dating, music are quoting Quran and Hadith in between all that. I find it very unethical and unIslamic to see the mixing of Quran and Hadith which is pure with the filth like dating and music. I try stopping people but they get angry and start to insult me and respond to me “quoting Hadith and Quran is Islam”. I respond to that by saying “thats not Islam and if that was the case then the Sahaba could have sinned openly and preached but no one would have accepted Islam then”.

Mufti Saheb sorry for the long explanation but could you advise me if what im saying is the truth and how should I go back to them and advise

Your answer would be much appreciated

Jazakallah

Avoid exposing yourself to such social networking. Talk to them privately, individually, and diplomatically. Avoid getting them to reject Qur'aan and Hadith. They will go on the edge of kufr and at times out of the fold. Do not become a cause of that.
