Question

If a father dies... is it permissible for the mother to do as she wishes and hand over the inheritance to the male child only? and to withhold all knowledge of what has been left from the female offspring ? knowing that one female child is divorced with no support or income and has two small children of which on has a severe chronic health disability?

Upon death of the father the estate has to be distributed as per Islaamic law of inheritance. The mother cannot deprive her female offspring. It is Haraam to do so.
