Permissibility of wearing underwear

Is wearing underwear haram (for both men and women)?
I’ve read wearing tight underwear causes sterility. I’ve also read brassieres could be causing breast cancer; and please note that brassieres make the bossom look bigger.
What would be the ruling then?
