(1) Islaamic History Hadhrat Salmaan Faarsi (RA)
Hadhrat Salmaan Faarsi (RA) lived in a village called Jayyaan, close to Isfahan, where his father was the chief of the area. They were fire-worshippers and his father would not allow him to go anywhere. When he happened to go out one day, he passed by a Christian church and because he was impressed with their religion, he became a Christian. He was, however, not content with Christianity and still sought to find the correct religion, he therefore left Isfahan and went to live in Shaam, where he stayed for a long while. From there, he proceeded to Mosul, where he stayed in the attendance of a priest for some while, before then leaving for Nasibeen, were he again was an attendant to another priest. Thereafter, he went to a place called Ghamuriyyah to stay in the attendance of another priest. When Hadhrat Salmaan (RA) learnt from this priest that the time was close for the final Nabi (SAW) to appear in Arabia, he joined a caravan travelling in that direction. The people of the caravan, however, deceived him and sold him as a slave to a Jew, who then took Hadhrat Salmaan (RA) to Madinah. When Rasulullaah (SAW) migrated to Madinah, Hadhrat Salmaan (RA) became a Muslim at his hand and Rasulullaah (SAW) made him the Deeni brother of Hadhrat Abu Dardaa (RA). Rasulullaah (SAW) once said, “Jannaah is looking forward to the arrival of three persons; Ali, Ammaar and Salmaan.” Hadhrat Salmaan (RA) was extremely knowledgeable and even the very senior Sahabah attested. When Hadhrat Umar (RA) appointed him governor to Iraq, he still remained the simple soul he had always been. He passed away in the year 35 A.H.
(2) Allaah’s Power The Hoopoe bird
Allaah has created the Hoopoe bird with a magnificent crown on its head, which has decorative designs on it. The mere sight of it is enough to captivate the attention of any onlooker. Allaah has given it a very strong beak that is capable of burrowing a hole into a tree to make a nest for itself. One of the unique capabilities that Allaah has bestowed it was it’s engineering skills and that it can detect the presence of water, even if it is deep underground. It was for this reason that Hadhrat Sulaymaan (RA) used the Hoopoe (Hudhud) as a messenger, who stayed with him wherever he went.
(3) A Fardh Performing Salaah in Jamaa’ah
Someone once asked Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Abbaas (RA) about a person who fasts all day and performs Salaah all night, but does not attend the Jumu’ah Salaah and does not perform Salaah in Jamaa’ah. Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Abbaas (RA) said, “He is destined for Jahannam.”

Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “What have I to do with this world? The example of this world and myself is just like the traveller who stops beneath a tree to rest in the shade and then leaves to travel on.”

[Tirmidhi 2377, from Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Mas’ood (RA)]

(8) The Aakhirah The condition of the people in Jahannam
Allaah says in the Qur’aan, “(On the contrary,) those who commit kufr will have the Fire of Jahannam, where no decree (of death) will be passed against them so that they may die (and thereby be relieved of punishment). (Let alone escaping the punishment,) Their punishment will also not be lightened. Thus do We punish every Kaafir.

[Surah Faatir, verse 36]

Rasulullaah (SAW) said, “The person who takes seven Ajwa dates of Madinah early every morning (before eating) will not be harmed by poison on that day and will not be affected by black magic.”

(10) Qur’aanic Advice
