Assalamualaikum ,

Sheikh please could you kindly advise what is Wahabi , my family and certain people i know say that tablighi people are wahabi . I have seen in a website called Noor-e-Madinah that the Deoband Ulema defended the wahabi movement and being that you are from the Deobandi Madressa you could kindly advise regarding this .

Your kind information of and explanation of what is Wahabi greatly appreciated .

In certain matters the Deobandi scholars concur  with the Wahabis, but in pertinent matters we deffer such as Waselaah, Taweez, Intercession, Hayat-e-Nabi (S.A.W) Ziyaarat-e-Nabi (S.A.W), etc - see our translation "Differences in the Ummat...." generally Wahabis refer to the followers of Sheikh Abdul Wahab Najdi.
