Work and Purdah

Question ID: 19362

Assalamu alaikum, Respected Mufti Sahab, Sir I am working in a School as an Accountant/Office Incharge. And in school there are lady teachers, and the principal and administrator is also female. So for the purpose of office work like talking to them for form issuing, for bags and books issuing, for project work, for consulting to buy printer, scanners etc for signing of voucher and bills to be passed before payment etc etc etc. So I have to now and then go to the principal and administrator for these things and I have to talk to them also and sometimes meeting takes place and I and other trustees who are male has to sit together with them to consult and see and correct how work and classes are going on. For the projector to be installed I have to see to it and then relay the whole thing to the teachers and show them how it works I have to do it, but they are all female and gair-mahram but all female including the Principal etc are all muslims. I have to talk to them and vice a versa. What do I do in this scenario? Should I leave the job and try else where. But in trying else where there are chances that there would be other female workers who are not muslims but will be gair-mahram for me. What do I do and how to save my iman. As the satan slowly and with ploy will definitely try its gimmick and try to make me its prey. How long can I go on fighting with my nafs and satan. Is this job good for me or not.

2. I also make a jamat when I miss my jamat in the masjid courtyard, I become the Imam and the other muktadi. So I was thinking that I should not become Imam as I am doing a haram act like talking and mingling with non-mehram and this instead of me getting reward I will be punished and get wrath for becoming imam inspite of these acts.
Please guide me and help me. Should I do istekharah for the job?

Assalamu alaikum,

Jazzak Allah!

1) Control as much as possible your eyes. Do not use sweet tones. Be firm. Be careful. Do not become friendly. Do your job and leave. Make a lot of Istikhfaar. If not married, get married.
2) If there is someone else to make Imaamat then you do NOT do so. If no one else, then make Imaamat.
