Womens right of asking for a divorce

Question ID: 27877

Please advise on whether a women has the right to ask for a divorce in the following circumstances.
Husband is being sequestrated for standing surety on another guy’s debt which was not paid by the guy. He is declared insolvent, refuses to indicate how he is going to earn income in future, refuses to obtain a job as he is a businessman, cannot pay for property that is in his and wife’s name, is constantly depressed and it affects their personal life. Wife is not working hence in all likelihood her name will in time be blacklisted with credit bureau as well because of him. Wife cannot cope with his constant attempts to work on business deals which he constantly believes is going to be successful when nothing is actually a success.

Wife is feeling like she is losing her feelings for him as she cannot tolerate lies anymore and pressure of his financial problems any longer as she feels that when he is advised in advance he never heeds advice from her but when the “crap hits the fan” she has to be the understanding female.

verdict please?

As long as he is providing food on the table, do not ask for divorce. However call in your and his elders to address this very serious issue which is leading to divorce.
