Uncertain of nikaah and talaaq

assalam.mufti saheb. i made nikaah with a non muslim in the masjid with 2 witnesses. but i dont remember if he read the kalima to become a muslim. we are divorced . we have 2 children.I am teaching my children deen islam. we divorced but he did not say the word talaaq . in the first instance were we married islamically? if yes did talaaq take place? i made nikaah again with a muslim. Are we in nikaah? Am confused. please advise me what to do.

You should be sincere. After having two children, can you not figure out whether the person you are married to is a Muslims or not? It is not permissible to marry a non-Muslim. I presume, since in it was in a Masjid, he must have been a Muslim. Because you are divorced you can marry now.
