Time that sehri ends

Question ID: 28409

Assalamu alaikum

Respected Mufti

I am living in London and the Ramadaan timetables here are calculated differently to that in South Africa. Sehri ends at the time of Fajr and Fajr is later than I would expect.

I have checked the sunrise time, and expect that Fajr should be 1 hour 10 minutes before sunrise and i stop eating sehri 5 mins before the calculated time of Fajr. This is about 20 minutes earlier than Fajr according to the local musjid times.

Is this correct? Or am I wrong in doing my own calculation?
