Sharing expenses with husband

Question ID: 27983

Salaams Mufti

Please can you advise on the best way to approach our financial issues :-

I have been married for 7 months.
I earn more than my husband and he earns approx half my salary.
I am presently paying all expenses and he contributes to paying for groceries as and when I need them.

This is causing me to feel resentful and he has since offered to pay half of all the expenses. He has told me to help myself to his money of which I have arranged for him to use my bank account for his salary deposits.
This means I can access and monitor his money but I have not taken a cent from him since.
I feel bad about taking the money from him and I am also reluctant to ask him for any money.
I have thought of an easier resolution of just giving him the bills and request that he pays it, such as the lights & water account, phone account’s, etc and hopefully this will be resolved.
what are your thoughts on this ?

In the first place you should not be burdened with the task and toil of working.
I fear in the near future quarreling etc. is going to take place because of the earning factor. Leave things as is in the current situation.
