Current day Salafis are those that do not adhere to any 'one' of the Mazhabs of Fiqh of the Ahlus Sunnat wal Jamaat. They do not adhere to beliefs as explained by the Ashaaris or Maturidis or original Salafis. Thus they are not from Ahlus Sunnat wal Jamaat. See on site books on Taqleed e.g. 'Taqleed Made Easy/ Why follow one Imaan of Fiqh' for better understanding.
