Relative not taking responsibility for their children

Asalaam Aleikum.
I have a question regarding family matters that has been disturbing me and I do not know which way to go.

We have a relative who has children but does not take the responsibility of raising the children. We have helped taking care of the children several times but our relative continues making mistakes for example taking huge loans from the bank and disappearing leaving the children with us. This time round I have many other responsibilities and do not want to take the children again but I feel guilty that I am a Muslim and he is my relative.

Am I right to say no and insist that the relative take their responsibilities seriously? Everyone in our family thinks I am not right but I feel that we cannot keep on doing this. Am I supposed to help those in need even when I know that they are bringing problems on purpose?

Looking forward to your response. Jazakallah Kheir.

Call family meeting and address the situation. He is taking advantage over you. Where is he going? You will be rewarded. Safer to bear this un-called for burden.
