Assalamualaikum Mufti
Question relating to travel and Musafir status:
My current job entails frequent travel and I would like some clarification with regards to whether I am regarded as a Musafir or not:
I work in Saudi Arabia for 3 weeks then return home for 1 week on an ongoing basis. However, in Saudi Arabia, I do travel between cities which are over 100km apart.
Q1) I fly into Jeddah and stay there for 3 days before I travel to Jazan where I stay for 2 days. Am I regarded as a Musafir in both Jeddah and Jazan?
Q2) If, during my 3 weeks in Saudi Arabia, my itinerary changes due to work commitments and I stay in Jeddah for 15 days or more. Am I still a Musafir?

1) Yes
2) This depends on your intention. If you are in Jeddah and make intention that you are going to stay for 15 days or more then you are NOT a Musafir. If your are not certain for how many days you are going to stay then you are a Musafir irrespective whether it prolonged more than 15 days.
