Question ID: 22081

Mufti Saheb, after visiting the Holy Haramain for the first time, I find that I prefer Madina over Makkah. When someone said they will miss the Kaaba, I said that what I miss is the Green Dome and Raudha. My wife has scolded me saying that I can’t say things like that because Allah loves Makkah. Naturally, we pray towards Makkah, and I love the Kaaba. But I don’t feel any inclination towards the city of Makkah. Maybe it’s the crowds, or the construction, or the hustle and bustle. I don’t know the reason.

Is it ok to feel this way, or is my Imaan in danger?

It does not affect your Imaan.
It is something subjective, for which you will not be accountable.

Mufti Elias
