Praying without wudhu

Question ID: 21692

I have heard that hanafis believe that praying without wudhu is kufr as it is like mocking the religion.
I have also read some opinions that it is not kufr unless with intention of mocking or if person believes wudhu isn’t necessary.

Unfortunately, many years ago I did pray without ghusal. I was unclean and was visiting the blue mosque in istanbul as a tourist. The time for prayer came and I prayed anyway because I felt helpless and wanted to. I didn’t know I could do tayummum as a traveller.

There have perhaps been other cases as well when I might have prayed because I was invited to and was ashamed but shouldn’t have because I was unclean.

I know that my intent was never to mock.

The blue mosque event took place after marriage but before kids. Is my action kufr? And are my kids legitimate?

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُاللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

As a traveller in the above case you were NOT allowed to make Tayammum.

If a Muslim believes Halaal to be Haraam then that will take him out of the fold of Islaam.

In all the above cases stated you had become a major, wretched transgressor, but not a Kaafir as you did not believe it is permissible to pray without wudhu/ ghusl.

وَعَلَيْكُمُ السَّلَام وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ وَمَغْفِرَتُهُ
