Permissibility of having bridal and baby showers in Islam

Salaams I would like to know if baby showers and bridal showers are allowed in Islam. please supply reasons whether the answer is yes or no.

Not permissible. These are the ways and norms of the enemies of Islaam. We should not imitate those upon whom the wrath and anger of Allaah is descending upon.
