Assalaamu Alaikum
A husband was given a gift at the time of Nikah. The marriage did not work out. 6 months later the wife was divorced. Without asking for the gifts given at the time of Nikah, the husband returned the gifts. However, he did not return other belongings of the wife. Upon demand to return those things which belong to the wife, the husband says that he will return those things which belong to the wife, if they return the gift that he had sent back. Does he have a right in asking for something which he had returned?
