Asslamu Alaikum Mufti saab
My question – when a close family member, brother/sister/parents passes away, the sharia allows only 3 days of mourning. The living borthers and sisters will gather daily for 3 days at the house of the deceased.
The indian custom of visiting the deceased family house on the day of Eid – is this permissible? I actually refused to be present at the deceased family house on the day of Eid, with the sole intention of breaking this old age tradition. Have i done wrong? I feel very guilty when all the family members gather on Eids day and I stay away.In fact I intentionally do not visit any deceased persons family on EIDs day. What is the sharia ruling?

To gather on Eid day at the deceased family is not proven in Shariat.
3 Days morning has been stipulated.
You have not done wrong. Be steadfast in Sharia, in it lies goodness and blessing.
