Last name in Shari’ah

Question ID: 20031

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem

Dear respected Mufti sb.,
I hope you are in good health.

Can I have my last name as Alhanafi?
I was a Burmese refugee in Thailand, then
my family got the chance to come to USA.
My name Saifullah is spelled on offical documents
very wrong. My name was mutilated on official documents.
First name start with S, F and last name R.
Many Burmese Muslims have only given name which can be termed as first name.
Also, I can’t split the name Saifullah.
So, can I have my full name as Saifullah Alhanafi and spelled such in this way?
If not, how about Alburmi, even though I was born in Thailand.

Both are permissible. Say Muhammed or Ahmed Saifullaah.
