Asalaam wu alaykum
I would like to know the validity of a divorce given under these circumstances:
On Friday night my wife and I had a fight, which turned out to be quite ugly, I grabbed her by her arms and shook her, but I did not hit her, she now fears me. I told her to call her father and pick her up. I called my parents and they came to our flat. With both our parents being there it escalated and turned out to be very ugly.
I was told by my mother that if I go back she would disown me causing me severe stress.
On Saturday my wife called my brother and told him that they would meet us at the apartment and that they want the divorce.
When we met on Saturday, I asked her if she wanted the divorce and she said that she fears me and that our families don’t get along and whats going to happen when we have children?
Her witness there asked me if I wanted to give it and I nodded my head implying NO.
Than her brother stepped in and said you guys have tried for 16 months and it has not worked out, you guys should call it quits.
With all this severe stress, I felt I had lost my sanity for those few minutes.
I gave all 3 Talaqs in 1 go, but only because they had asked for it.
Is this divorce valid?
