Fasting on the day of Arafat causes a person’s sins for the previous year and next year to be forgiven. How should we advise a Muslim brother who says that because he has fasted the day of Arafat, he can indulge in sins for the next year without a concern?

The Hadith mentions the current and the coming year. Ulema state this refers to Minor Sins. If there is an ointment that definitely cures burns, will that person who knows this deliberately and repeatedly burn his face?
